DONNA’S FIRST INTRODUCTION

ANGEL ALLEN GOOLSBY WEST

Angel Allen Goolsby West(Ponce, 2008)

height 32″, bloom 5″, season EM, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, Fragrant, 26 buds, 4 branches,  Cream with purple eye and edge above green yellow throat. [(Islesworth × Awesome Blossom) × Fractal]

“I am a private tutor at St. Christopher’s School.  One of my ex students who was a student at Hampden Sydney College passed away in 2008.  I worked with Allen and his brother for probably 8 years, so as you may guess, became quite close to the family. So in his honor (and for his mother, a gardener herself) I named the daylily “Angel Allen Goolsby West”.  I will present her with the daylily the Friday before Mothers’ Day.  As the plant increases each year, I plan to give her more fans to share with friends and family always keeping at least 2 fans for myself.”           –    Donna Ponce

Angel Meghan Jane Rebekah Sisk(Ponce, 2010)

height 40″, bloom 5.5″, season EM, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, Fragrant, 14 buds, 3 branches,  Yellow self shades of plum eye yellow green throat. (Web of Intrigue × Optical Art)

Angel Meghan Jane Rebekah Sisk was named after a student I tutored for about 12 years.  This daylily is one of the first to bloom.  It stands out in the garden and makes a statement, as Meghan always did.  It reblooms and reblooms and is usually one of the last daylilies blooming in my garden.

PLANT HABIT

Angel Kaleilani(Ponce, 2010)

height 26″, bloom 5.5″, season M, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Tetraploid, 17 buds, 3 branches,  Rose with a light rose watermark, yellow to green throat, toothy yellow edge. (Rushing Delight × Alexa Kathryn)

Angel Kaleilani was named after my best friend’s daughter (They live in Hawaii) upon her graduation from high school.  Katherine chose to use her middle name for the daylily. This daylily is a later bloomer in my garden.
