LARRY, PAULETTE, AND MICHAEL MILLER
| This is a hybridizer’s garden (Michael, Paulette and Larry) and the garden is definitely a family affair. This garden is known to the daylily community as Small World Garden. It is an excellent example of how relatively small spaces can be used to their maximum potential. The front yard consists of weaving rows of daylilies giving a glorious mass appearance. There is a complete collection of the Stamile CANDY series as well as Kirchhoff s TRUFFLES. Also included are the Miller cultivars. Look for SMALL WORLD BLUE-EYED BUTTERFLY, SMALL WORLD CODI, SMALL WORLD PURPLE PERFUSION, AND SMALL WORLD ALLI to name just a few. The Miller garden grows mostly newer introductions and many are used in their hybridizing efforts. As the rear yard comes into view, there is a Hosta garden on the left. Many are quite large, giving a nice array of texture and color to the shade. The remainder of the rear yard contains a pond, benches for quiet contemplation and the seedling beds. Be prepared to be knocked off your feet. There are many glorious seedlings, ranging from from spiders to doubles, and eyed and ruffled forms. It will be difficult to leave this garden after seeing the seedlings. Finally, all three Millers have daylilies named in their honor. These cultivars MICHAEL MILLER, PAULETTE MILLER and LARRY ALLEN MILLER can all be seen growing in their garden.
